The company was established in 1972 by several former Mushi Pro staff-including Masao Maruyama, Osamu Dezaki, Rintaro, and Yoshiaki Kawajiri-as an outsourcing unit for TMS Entertainment. As noted, Madhouse had a long relationship with the late Satoshi Kon they animated every project he directed ( Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, Paranoia Agent, Paprika, The Dream Machine). They are also known for doing some of the anime of a mix of western works, for example, Highlander: The Search for Vengeance, Supernatural, X-Men, and part of the second season of The Boondocks.

That’s some powerful shit, especially for the era when this series was still pretending it was for kids.Madhouse (マッドハウス) is a highly-regarded Japanese animation studio, probably best known for their adaptation of Death Note, their works with CLAMP, their anime first shows, and the movies of Satoshi Kon, Yoshiaki Kawajiri, Rintaro and Mamoru Hosoda. So he simply went to his family’s graves, and let himself fade out and die. Noximilian the Clockmaker (Noximilien l'horloger) note The Legend of Ogrest ( Ogrest, la lgende ) note Made with Studio Ghibli and Mad House. Nox had a lot more of a poetic, dare I say beautiful ending he saw all was lost for him, and it made him have a realization that it was all for naught, and always had been. Qilby was basically just put back in time out, and more than likely is still crazy, just broken and uncaring within the White Dimension. Also this is more of a minor thing I guess, but Nox’s ending was a lot better IMO.

He said himself that if he was to succeed, his mistakes and wrongdoings would mean nothing, because they never would have happened. Nox, on the other hand was unreasonable, and very much not his original self, but he was in a weird way, absolutely right. Qilby came off a lot more as just “oh he’s insane” even if his struggle and motivation was understandable. Both were amazing villains, though I do think Nox’s motivations were better. I can’t speak on the plot of S3 yet, as I’ve only watched 1 and 2 (haven’t started the manga yet unfortunately), but I definitely agree with ya about Nox and Qilby.
